Monday, August 11

I just did the WOD with modified weight on the thrusters and fewer reps on everything:

10 GHD Sit-ups
10 Hip & Back Extensions
40 pound Thrusters, 15 reps
10 Pull-ups

Did you know there is a cross fit club in Raleigh? Hmmmm, I might be a little scared of them.

Sunday, August 10

I ran to Whole Foods (1.3) miles, then walked 2 miles. Me running wasn't pretty, but I tried.
Today is the first day my quads aren't hurting. So that's something.

Sunday August 10, 2008

So today's WOD is run 5 k. I did, but I did it by jogging alongside Ryan on his bicycle to the store, so we had a break at the halfway point. BUT, I had to push him up the hills and had a very hard time keeping up with him on the way back with groceries in my backpack. So I think I get to claim credit, based on my perceived exertion!

After 4 days, I don't feel too sore just moving, but when I try to DO anything (scrub something, toss some laundry), something always hurts. That's good, I think!

I did the Kiddie one too. The Big Dawg.
My playground's track is only 150 meters.
That means I did 7 rounds of :
150 meter *sprint*
7 kipping pull-ups
then three laps to finish.

When Chris arrived with the kids, I did one extra kipping pull up just to show off, so that makes 50 pull-ups. Hee.

Calling my sprint a sprint is a lie, but I did my best. I feel fabulous.

So today I looked at the WOD and thought, hmm-no can do. Think I'll have to do the kids'. I did the big dawg kid workout, but since I had limited pullup equipment (or limited ability, more like) at the preschool playground, I mixed up 10 pushups on 3 of my rounds. Need to get some gear. Now I am gonna go dig in the garden!
I did:
7 rounds of 200 meter run followed by 10 pushups or 10 modified pullups.

Comments: this wod gave me a ton of energy, and was not too hard since it didn't take too long. It felt quite challenging while it was going on, however. Neighbors looked at me funny running as fast as my slow, short, 39-yr old legs could up and down my street. The bonus: I did manage to thwart my nemesis with the big rottweiler who likes to let his dog poop there. (The pooping is not the reason he is my nemesis).
